Whether you sing or play an instrument, you'll find many incredible opportunities to use your gifts for the Lord here at Zion Baptist Church. It is the goal of our Worship Team to help create an atmosphere of worship that will allow each person in attendance, including ourselves, an opportunity to encounter God. God has so blessed us, here at Zion, with a wide variety of gifts and talents and we try to incorporate them all in our worship. 

We understand that we have people attending our worship services from age 3 to 93. Various forms of worship help them to encounter God in a real and personal way. With this in mind, we strive to put together a worship service that will touch the hearts of all in attendance. 

Of course, worship is far more than music. Worship begins with the attitude of our heart. Our attitude should be focused on pleasing God and not ourselves. Our Worship Team always strives to bring honor to God in our worship. 

Our Worship Team

WORSHIP AT ZION

Here at Zion we blend together a variety of music in our weekly worship services. We love singing the great old hymns, as well as, the great new choruses and songs. We constantly strive to know Christ and to make Him known through a variety of worship techniques. 

ADULT CHOIR

The Adult Choir at ZBC participates in our weekly worship services and brings special music on a regular basis. This choir averages 50-60 active members and provides a creative ministry outlet for many adults at Zion where we strive to provide a variety of exciting music.

PRAISE SINGERS

Our Praise Singers lead our services each week by engaging our congregation through a special gift of inspirational and uplifting singing. Participation in this part of our Worship Team requires an additional commitment of time each week, as they prepare to lead our Sunday services.

WORSHIP BAND

This talented group of musicians leads our Worship Services each Sunday morning at 8:30 and 10:00. We are located in the small community of Zion, KY, about 5 miles east/southeast of Henderson, KY. We are always looking for new players with a heart for worship. 

ADULT CREATIVE MINISTRIES

The Adult Creative Ministry Team leads Zion in worship experiences using drama, creative movement, sign-art and musical interpretation. This Team enhances our Sunday worship experiences on a regular basis. 

DRAMA MINISTRY

Using elements such as acting, costuming, and set construction, members of our drama ministry enhance our worship services by presenting gospel truths in new and exciting ways.   

PRESCHOOL & CHILDREN'S ARTS

Our Preschool and Children’s Choirs are age graded from 3 years old through the 5th grade. Children begin learning the basics of musicianship incorporating both choral and instrumental concepts in our curriculum. In addition, our school age children are involved in sign art. They are also taught the value of participating in our main worship services by including them on a regular basis. They meet Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm in the Children’s Worship Room. 

STUDENT WORSHIP

Our students are involved in a variety of worship ministries, including a Student Creative Ministry Team, puppets, a vocal ensemble, and the Youth Worship Band. Our Youth Worship Band and singers lead our “Saturday Night Live” evening services. Several of our youth participate with our adult worship team on Sunday mornings. Student Ministry Teams meet Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm in “The Zone.” 

SPECIAL EVENTS 

The Worship Ministry hosts several events each year. These have included a variety of concerts, worship events and dramatic productions.   

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED? 

From pre-school to senior adults, opportunities abound for all ages to participate in worship through music, creative arts, drama and song. There is a place for you in the music and worship of Zion Baptist Church.
